What education do I offer ?

Supervision Training

I care deeply about the quality of support people receive at work, and I’ve seen first-hand the difference that well-delivered supervision can make – not just to individual wellbeing, but to team culture and service quality.

If you’re delivering supervision internally – whether within a clinical, care, education or voluntary sector setting – I can work with you to strengthen both the practice and the culture around it. This isn’t just about providing a format or a template. High-quality supervision should be integrated into how you lead, support, and have conversations at work.

I support individuals, teams and organisations to move beyond compliance or ‘tick-box’ approaches, and into supervision that’s relational, reflective, and aligned with your wider values and goals. That means shaping the conditions where supervision is not just offered, but embedded – woven into your everyday ways of working.

Communication Skills Training

I’ve been delivering communication skills training for over a decade, across both the NHS and third sector. For me, communication isn’t a ‘soft skill’ – it’s the cement that holds safe, effective, and compassionate practice together. And yet, it’s so often overlooked.

As an NHS Christie-trained communication skills facilitator, I’ve worked with a wide range of professionals – from nurses and AHPs to medics, consultants, and unregistered staff. I’m experienced in delivering training across multiple formats, including bespoke and streamlined options that respect the time pressures faced by healthcare professionals.

My approach is practical, evidence-informed, and grounded in the realities of frontline work – designed to support people to have better conversations, even in the most challenging of contexts

I have established courses in:

      • Foundation level communication skills
      • Breaking bad news
      • Advanced communication skills
      • Advanced care planning
      • Treatment escalation plans

Specialist Healthcare Career Coaching

I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring, a qualification I completed several years ago and was later invited to lecture on – an experience that allowed me to work alongside colleagues from the armed forces, higher education, industry, and healthcare. More recently, I completed the accredited Firework Career Coaching programme and am now an accredited Firework Coach.

The Firework career coaching programme has been particularly powerful in my work with healthcare professionals who find themselves at a career crossroads, where the next step can often feel unclear or overwhelming. As an evidence-based and well-established model, Firework offers a clear, supportive structure that, in my experience, helps people gain confidence in making their next move. It’s equally valuable for those at the very start of their career journey – especially when they’re unsure about the direction they want to take.

Bespoke Training and Education Packages

I’ve designed and delivered a wide range of education programmes – from supporting staff and patients, to developing clinical skills, to promoting wellbeing for healthcare professionals. I bring not only a deep understanding of what effective education looks like, but also the insight that comes from being an experienced healthcare practitioner myself.

If your team or organisation has unmet educational needs, I’d be happy to meet and explore how I can support you.

 My Approach

My approach to education is grounded in the belief that people learn best through connection, reflection, and relevance. I don’t stand at the front and deliver information – I create spaces for engagement, dialogue, and discovery. Whether I’m working with students, practitioners, or leaders, I start with the experience already in the room, drawing it out and building on it.

I design learning experiences that are participatory and reflective, not just informative. I aim to support people to integrate new knowledge into their own frameworks, rather than simply taking on more content.

This means my sessions often involve discussion, shared problem-solving, and time to make sense of what’s being learned in the context of real practice. My goal is not just to pass on information, but to foster insight, confidence, and a felt sense of professional agency.

Training and education with me always involves:

✅ discussion

✅ reflecting on practice and scenario work

✅ post teaching reflection

✅ participation

✅ fun!
